Fellowship Description: The Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute invites applications each year for several postdoctoral fellowships in the fields of biological, chemical, and physical oceanography, marine geology, and ocean engineering. Fellowships may require occasional trips to sea. Awards are typically for two years.
Located in Moss Landing, California, the heart of the nation’s largest marine sanctuary, MBARI places a balanced emphasis on science and engineering, with established programs in marine robotics, ocean physics, chemistry, geology, and biology, as well as information management and ocean instrumentation research and development.
Candidates must be awarded their Ph.D. degree prior to commencing the two-year appointment between September 2011 and March 2012. Applicants are encouraged to communicate with potential research sponsors at MBARI for guidance on project feasibility, relevance to ongoing MBARI research, and resource availability.

The APAI is within a three year ARC Linkage grant of the Centre for Work + Life, University of SA, addressing how Australians will meet the challenge of climate change by increasing environmentally sustainable behaviours and reducing their ‘environmental footprint’.The APAI will undertake a comparative study of ‘work-life’ issues and the potential and current practice of environmental adaptive capacity in three workplaces in the public sector, local government and manufacturing. A qualitative study in each workplace will be followed by a survey of workers and interviews with managers. Fist class Hons students in social sciences are encouraged to apply.

The Nanyang Fellows Programme was launched in 1998 by Dr Tony Tan. Since then courses are conducted annually with an optimum cohort of around 20-30 students.
